Developing the Middle Skills Workforce
October 23rd – 8:30-11am
In collaboration with NJBIA
When asked to choose between a new car and a smartphone, college students choose the smartphone. Autonomous vehicles are coming to our streets. Robot assisted surgery is now commonplace. We know our world of work is changing.
Continuing our emphasis on the importance of the Future of Work, our next program in the series will be held in partnership with NJBIA on Wednesday, October 23rd.
This program will focus on developing the middle skills workforce to meet the changing business environment in the era of AI and Robotics through apprenticeships, certifications and other innovative means.
Keynote speaker will be Jane Oates, President of Working Nation. Prior to Working Nation, Oates served as the Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training at the US Department of Labor (DOL) under President Obama.
Oates became a national leader in education and workforce programs during her ten years with Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the US Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Oates served as the Commissioner of the New Jersey Council of Higher Education under Governor Corzine.
We are assembling a C-level speaker panel in key sectors for New Jersey Healthcare, Cybersecurity, Energy, and Logistics and we’ll keep you posted!
